Technology Group Solutions, a Kansas City-based company located in Lenexa, Kansas, was established in 2005 to provide resources in the IT field for local businesses. We have branched out to other states since our inception to offer quality product solutions and services to our clients.

Our Leadership

Lenora Payne

Lenora Payne, established Technology Group Solutions, LLC (TGS) in 2005, based on her belief in providing a full spectrum of information technology infrastructure solutions with integrity, honesty, dependability and a customer centric philosophy.

Payne began her career in IT over 30 years ago in the word processing data equipment field. Her background includes operations management, employee training, sales support and human resources. Prior to her founding TGS, Payne held positions at GE Capital Information Technology Solutions, MicroAge Computer Center, and other IT resellers, in various senior positions.

TGS provides superior customer service and unmatched value due in part to their strong vendor relationships and strategic partnerships. TGS has been recognized, received consecutive awards; Top Women Owned Business, 50 Fastest-Growing Women-Owned/Led Companies World-Wide, Top Area Minority-Owned Business, Fastest-Growing Area Business, Top Small Business, Entrepreneur of the Year (2013 Central Midwest Finalist), Women Executives-Kansas City, Diverse Small Business of the Year, Supplier of Year, MBE Supplier of the Year, Kansas Woman-Owned Business, 25 Under 25 and others.

Payne has attended the Kellogg School of Management, Kauffman FastTrac Growth Venture. She has received multiple sales and technical certifications in the field of Information Technology.

Doug Floersch

Doug Floersch has over 20 years’ experience in the IT industry, with an extensive background in data center, network, and solution sales. Doug currently serves as CTO of Technology Group Solutions, a leading solutions and consultative technology partner. As a founding member of TGS, he has a reputation of a relentless pursuit of superior service and execution for customers.

Over the past 10 years with TGS, he has been able to successfully lead the organization to an astounding $50 million in revenue. Doug has been influential in the growth of TGS developing a highly qualified team, driving a single vision to be the best service focused IT organization in the mid-west. Under Doug‘s direction, TGS has been recognized by the Kansas City Business Journal as one of the fastest growing businesses in Kansas City.

In the past, Doug served as an Enterprise architect for Unix systems. Doug has a passion for traveling, camping, and fine foods. As a born and raised Kansas City native, Doug is an avid KC Royals and Chiefs fan.

Cary Shiner

Cary Shiner has over 25 years experience in IT executive roles, with an extensive background in IT operations and data center engineering. He encompasses extensive experience driving transformation into large, complex organizations. Cary is currently serving as the head of services of TGS.

During his tenure, TGS services has grown from just a few engineers to over 20 seasoned consultants; serving over 100 companies in the Kansas City area. Cary is responsible for scaling the company’s services and operations divisions to support growth. Cary has served with the Board of Directors for regional colleges IT departments; assisting with developing and improving young students education in the IT field.

In the past, Cary served in several senior leadership roles at Sprint. Throughout his management of 240K+ Data Centers, Cary was responsible for the engineering and architecture of all infrastructure and onsite operations, spread across 8 sites nationwide. Cary was directly responsible for transforming Sprint’s infrastructure and data center architectures; including private cloud services and millions of cost savings through virtualization and aggressive vendor and expense management.

As a proven thought leader in the industry, Cary is continuing to transform organizations to adopt new technologies and services to improve the business’ bottom line. Cary received his Bachelor of Science in executive studies at Duke University. Cary currently lives in Basehor, Kansas on a self-sustaining hobby farm. Cary enjoys gardening, running and spending time with his favorite hometown team, The Kansas City Royals.

Tammi Young

Tammi has 24 years of experience with resellers focusing on IT Procurement, with an extensive background in supply chain, accounting, asset management and customer satisfaction. Tammi’s focus is in IT infrastructure and solution procurement. An expert in Supply Chain business processes, Tammi currently serves as Materials Manager of Technology Group Solutions and has been with TGS since October 2012.

Tammi was formerly the procurement officer at a local IT provider for over 18 years. She managed all aspects for supply operations, material management, purchasing, planning, inventory management, logistics and business process management.

As a mid-west native, Tammi is a Nascar fan and prefers to spend her time away from the office either fishing or traveling.

Marissa Williams

Marissa Williams has 10 years experience in Marketing & Business Development roles, an extensive background in graphic and web design, and over three years in the IT industry. Her innate desire to ask “why” and natural business acumen has enabled her to drive innovation and efficiency into marketing, web development and sales teams throughout her career. Marissa is currently serving as the Director of Business Development for TGS.

Immediately upon hire at TGS, Marissa led the company through a complete rebrand, launch of a new website and has since been focusing on growing TGS’ SMB sales team. Marissa is responsible for growing partner and customer relationships, building brand recognition, overseeing marketing spend, and managing corporate sponsorships for TGS.

In the past, Marissa served as a Regional Marketing Manager for a 5-state region at a local IT provider. Before that, she served as the Technology Solutions Coordinator at Consolidated Graphics; prior to their 2013 acquisition by RR Donnelley. Marissa received her Bachelor of Science in Technology at Pittsburg State University before moving to Tulsa, OK, followed by Houston, TX and then finally claiming Kansas City as her home.

Jeff Green

Jeff Green has 20 years of experience in various IT roles in the Kansas City area with an emphasis on Data Center Architecture. With years of experience planning and designing IT spaces to utilize them to their max potential. Jeff is currently serving as Director of Technical Services.

In the past, Jeff was a part of the Sprint Data Center services teams at multiple sites around the Kansas City Metro Area for 10 years. He was also a part of the Implementation, Planning and Design teams at the newly built Tier 4 US Bank Data Center in Olathe, Kansas. Working as a Senior Network Planner, Jeff assisted in designing and implementing solutions from the ground up. With extensive knowledge in Data Center design, he works with many companies across the Kansas City area to improve efficiencies via cutting edge ideas and solutions.

During his time at TGS Jeff has served as the Senior Data Center Architect and IT Director. He is currently overseeing the Managed Services Team and Help Desk that has shown significant growth in the past year. In his spare time, he prefers spending time with his two daughters and is a passionate Jayhawk, Chiefs and Royals fan.

Don Newsom

Don Newsom has twenty years of management experience, with over 18 years in various IT roles in the Kansas City area with emphasis in ITIL functions supporting Change, Incident, and Problem Management. Don is currently serving as the Director of Account and Project Management at Technology Group Solutions.

Don has participated in three different leadership programs and is a student of strategic leadership and occupational psychology. In 2015-2016, he served as the Chairman of the Sprint Next Leaders Program after participating in several roles in the program for the previous four years. Don also is certified in Lean Six Sigma and has experience managing an Operational Excellence program that saved more than 15 million dollars in revenue during a three-year span.

Don has served in several nonprofit and charity board positions and is currently an active supporter of the Multiple Sclerosis Mid America chapter in Kansas City.

Don Newsom

Kody Parton

Kody Parton is a seasoned IT professional with over 15 years of experience. During this time he has supported a vast array of environments including, small business, enterprise and the education sector all with a strong focus on efficiency, best practices and customer satisfaction.

In the past, Kody served as Director of Service Delivery at an education centric technology company based out of Kansas City. Here, he oversaw solutions center and field staff operations to support the technology initiatives for over 30 school districts. Prior to this, Kody was a member of the Sprint Enterprise Solutions Center from 2005 to 2010. During this time, Kody assisted in streamlining processes, build extensive documentation libraries and develop technical training material for internal Sprint staff.

In his free time, Kody enjoys spending time appreciating art and nature with his daughter. He likes cheering for the Royals and helping with the family farm in southern Missouri.
